Policy tracker
These are policy leads from the site brief, not legal advice, procurement advice, or a statement of current applicability. Source texts, versions, effective scope and update status still need item-by-item verification; consult the responsible authority or an official legal database before making a business decision.
- Policy source pending verification
Plastic pollution control
The 2020 Opinions on Further Strengthening Plastic Pollution Control (NDRC & MEE) set bans and limits on non-degradable single-use plastics.
- Policy source pending verification
Dual-carbon goals
Peak carbon before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060, pushing brands and manufacturers to build supply-chain carbon data.
- Policy source pending verification
Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
Harmonizes EU packaging rules as a regulation — recyclability, recycled content and reduction — applied in phases.
- Policy source pending verification
Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
Currently covers iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen. Pulp and paper are not in scope, but brands increasingly ask for supply-chain carbon data.
- Policy source pending verification
State PFAS limits in food packaging
State laws such as California AB 1200 restrict intentionally added PFAS in plant-fiber food packaging, shaping grease-resistance choices.
- Policy source pending verification
Plastic Resource Circulation Act
In force since April 2022, promoting reduction, substitution and recycling of plastic products.
03 — Glossary
Glossary
Search Chinese and English terms, aliases and definitions.
Crop straw
The stems and leaves left after harvesting grain — wheat, rice or corn straw — a typical agricultural residue.
Lignocellulose
The main structure of plant cell walls, made of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin.
Cellulose
A linear polysaccharide of glucose units — the main component of pulp, and hydrolysable into glucose.
Hemicellulose
A branched polysaccharide of sugars such as xylose — an important source of biomass sugars.
Lignin
An aromatic polymer in plant cell walls that gives rigidity; usable for energy or material applications.
Three-component fractionation
Separating cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin so each fraction goes to its most suitable use.
Pulp
Fiber material obtained by pulping, used in molded fiber, paper and board.
Low-carbon pulp
Pulp whose life-cycle emissions are lower than a stated baseline. “Low-carbon” is only meaningful with a defined LCA boundary and baseline.
Molded fiber
Packaging and products formed from pulp in molds and dried — protective inserts, trays, egg cartons.
Cellulosic sugar
Sugar hydrolysed from non-food lignocellulosic feedstock such as straw, as opposed to first-generation sugar from food crops.
Life cycle assessment
A method under ISO 14040 / 14044 that assesses environmental impacts from raw material to end of life.
Cradle-to-gate
An LCA boundary covering raw material extraction up to the factory gate, excluding use and end of life.
